She's growing into quite the beautiful young lady, and the threads you make really enhance her charms.Digshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09146986269769790807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300410233569072894.post-37771613429268340052009-11-28T13:16:03.710+10:002009-11-28T13:16:03.710+10:00Lovely, and pretty cheap if you don't count yo...Lovely, and pretty cheap if you don't count your labour. Even a Target dress would cost that much and it would not be unique. Pretty fabric and it even matches your blog colours. All worthwhile when DD obviously loves it so much.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01529416439720810403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300410233569072894.post-22550048511554434232009-11-27T07:26:20.044+10:002009-11-27T07:26:20.044+10:00Well OK, so you have a serger. But I bet your husband doesn't want it on his shirt hems, and nor do you.

I hand-baste my gathers, I'm afraid. This is why you can sew a dress for your daughter in a day and I cannot (aside from not knowing your daughter :-))

I've been doing French seams on this type of fabric for years with good results, also. But now that you have a serger you don't need to do that either. Serger, schmerger.

Oh yeah - pretty dress, has a kind of Regency feel to it with the empire bodice and the white!ejvchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16990256443923019343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300410233569072894.post-25194720378033713352009-11-27T04:29:42.564+10:002009-11-27T04:29:42.564+10:00It looks great - the green sash really makes it an...It looks great - the green sash really makes it and gives it an edge. Happy for your sake that it was quick to whip up as it doesn't sound like too much fun to sew - slippery sheer fabrics are not my favourite fabrics to handle!Mary Nannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02577449410716501317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300410233569072894.post-73912483829277286572009-11-26T22:19:57.620+10:002009-11-26T22:19:57.620+10:00Beautiful! That stuff drives me nuts, and I don't think I've ever used it for anything other than doll clothes because it's so hard to sew well!!wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02325131782150858859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300410233569072894.post-35194112344813539722009-11-26T14:01:09.357+10:002009-11-26T14:01:09.357+10:00It is a lovely dress. My 13 going on 14 has become so picky lately and prefers cloths from her small but 17 nearly 18 year old sister's closet.Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00622769905155059570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300410233569072894.post-10691047119915161732009-11-26T13:39:07.438+10:002009-11-26T13:39:07.438+10:00Very pretty, and very flattering on your daughter....Very pretty, and very flattering on your daughter.
