Another vogue 8379

Following the success of the last knit dress (lets just forget that neckline) and the appearance of a fabulous paisley dress on Stitcher's Guild, I was inspired to cut into my hoarded paisley print silk jersey from Fashionista Fabrics. This has matured nicely over the last year or so whilst I developed the fortitude to go near it with the scissors.

I made Vouge 8379 again (version #5, as I find this dress easy, flattering and comfortable to wear). The construction went smoothly, with my only change being to overlock picot lingerie elastic to the neckline prior to turning it over and coverstitching (much easier than inserting clear elastic).
However, I do not think this particular dress looks as good in photos as in real life, and this is a consideration for a travel wardrobe. I want to look terrific in all the holiday snaps :). Maybe it is the sheen, or the busy print, or having your daughter take photographs at 5.20pm as the sun goes down, whilst she is impatient to get to dance class.
I also think I need to hem it a tiny bit shorter, and possibly wear a cami underneath. It is a very clingy knit, and I am not wasting silk jersey as an extra layer inside at the back.

I have enough left for a knit top - but have put it back in the hoard. I love paisley, but not to wear every day.

Beautiful dress. I would love to buy or trade your left over fabric. I am smitten by it!

Great dress - it looks perfect on you. The fabric is fabulous. I so am jealous! My stash has no hidden gems, just boring basics - I need to work on that.

I love this! I adore paisley and I love this dress. You look fantastic! Three times this week I have laid this pattern out on three different fabrics and I have not had enough of any of them! I am destined to remain the only person who has never made this dress! I'm with Gail, I'll trade you for the leftovers! What a great addition to your travel wardrobe,

Very pretty dress, I'd say making a dress 5 times would give you enough confidence to break into a beautiful piece of fabric.

This dress looks fantastic on you. You point out little details that I would never, ever notice. I guess we all do that :)
Enjoy, it is beautiful.

If it looks better in person than in the photos it must really be amazing! I think it looks fabulous in the pictures.

It is a beautiful dress. I'm not sure it needs to be shorter, I just think it needs a shoe with a heel.

Karen, I can't find this pattern on the vogue site - is it OOP? Looks fantastic and like something I'd wear so I'd love to find this pattern, or something similar. Well done, great dress!
