Post lunch, so no lippy. Excuses, excuses. Today's effort is Vogue 1027, another pattern gem from my 2008 sewing. I had reached the bottom of my "I have no clothes" pit in early 2008, and so much of my wardrobe dates from this year.
I reviewed this pattern here
I am not quite sure why I have not used this pattern again, as I wear this particular dress frequently, and it was a very quick project. I think the main problem is sourcing a suitable, heavy knit. This fabric is about twice as heavy as any other rayon jersey I have found elsewhere. I am feeling mildly inspired to make it up again using a double layer of a thin jersey.

I do wish you wouldn't show photos with all that lovely yarn in the background! I'n trying so hard to knit all of my stash and then I see this luscious collection in the background. The dress is nice, too!
I don't think it's really your style, but you could do one of those tissue-weight burnout jerseys (that are nearly transparent) over a solid jersey. Although I have no idea how you would keep the two layers from sticking to each other...
I think neighbourhood.gal is onto something. I agree that we don't have good suppliers of jersey prints (except the $$Tessutis). Spotlight and Lincraft is all rubbish and the Remnant Warehouse is better for prints and stripes. Following on NG's suggestion, what about a mesh over solid?
I think this dress looks very good on you, love the fabric too :)
You look fabulous. I have no suggestions for places to buy a thicker knit.
This is lovely - the dark binding makes it very attractive as well. Also i think the neckline is very nice on you.
