Patterned Denim skirt Burda Style 02-2011-107

Version 3 of this skirt is in almost ubiquitous denim. I wear a denim skirt a lot, finding it more comfortable than jeans, but suitable for casual occasions in the same way. This particular skirt is made from the patterned denim purchased from Gorgeous Fabrics, previously used as an inset in my long a-line denim skirt. The plan is that I shall be able to wear all the same tops and jackets with both skirts.

However, it is rather warm today, so I am wearing it with a t-shirt, not winter woolies, as shown with the long skirt.

This skirt is made with the facing at the waist, just like Burda instructs, and by some judicious taking in, it fits much better than the elastic waist versions. There is no lining. I don't line denim.
I top stitched the back seams to add vertical emphasis - having sufficent emphasis in all other directions naturally. I don't think I have anything else to say about this project.
I like this skirt. Do you think 4 versions would be too many?

your skirt is so flattering. If you`re on a roll then go for it.

You know the old saying - "if you're on a good thing, stick to it" :)
I think the skirt is lovely and each fabric makes it different. I particularly like that one.

Four too many? not if you like them. I think we all have a uniform we revert to, because we feel most like ourselves when we wear it.

Lovely lovely lovely. And no 4 versions or more would be fine.

4 is not too many (she says from experience)! But 5 is pushing it :-)

Lovely! The topstitching and fun fabric really elevate the simplicity of the pattern. And this is definitely a pattern that would weather many versions.

I wish I could make something successful many times over. I'm addicted to variation, which means that I can't 'flog that working horse'. In fact, I often make a test garment with the intention of remaking it in something better and never get around to it - I'm already distracted by the next best thing!

It's a sewing virtue to be able to recognise a good thing and repeat it!
