I have just finished knitting this short sleeved cardigan, from Jo Sharp's Knit 4. I was seduced by the yarn, which is a rayon fine tube twisted with cotton strands, and liberally strung with gold sequins. I am not normally drawn to glitz and bling, but I had been reading so much about knitting with beads, which normally seems to involve threading hundreds or thousands of beads on to knitting yarn, that this pre-beaded yarn was irresistible.
Unfortunately, as I simply fell in lust with the yarn, rather than making a considered, planned choice whilst thinking about my wardrobe needs, I don't have many garments that I can wear with this cardigan. It is a colour departure for me, and also a swing shape, which I know does not flatter me, but overcome with yarn bedazzlement, I forgot this when I was selecting the pattern.
I love the i- cord cross over fastening. I love the colour, and the cardigan is a perfect weight for autumn evenings where I live.
I am glad it suits my daughter better than it suits me.

I will let out the back waistband of my trousers today. Thank you for the fitting tips on my last post.

This colour departure really suits you...perhaps you need to reclaim this cardi and set your wardrobe off in a new colour direction? (though, it does look great on your daughter also)
Rubbish! It looks great on you! I love it - I would be dazzled by that yarn too!
Nope. Let your daughter have it. I have a rule that any item of my wardrobe worn by my daughters is theirs. I never want to wear it again after seeing it adorn on a gorgeous young thing!
That is lovely!! I think the green is very flattering on you. It really brings out the red in your hair. It's very cute with the denim skirt.
I love the colour. I am going around to the yarn shop as soon as I finish typing this because I want some. It looks fantastic with the green necklace and the skirt. It's such a useful style for this time of year. As for the mould and mildew, yesterday we had sunshine most of the day and I took the opportunity to take the covers off every sofa and cushion in the house. I washed them all and aired all the cushions in the sun. Last night I spent about two hours putting the sofas back together. You're right, it is depressing.
Gorgeous! I can see why you were drawn to it. You just need to make some garments to coordinate with it, as the color really suits you.
It looks terrific on both of you. I love green. It's a fantastic sweater.
Great colour on you, agree the shape is better on your daughter. But definitely make more things in that colour.
Very cute. I think it looks just fine on you. Anything looks great on the young ones, so don't compare. And it must be pretty groovy if your daughter wants to wear it. Often my 16 year old wears something of mine (including shoes) and I never see it again!
