Today the weather is warm enough for me to break out the sandals. I am in the shop this morning, then travelling to Brisbane, to have dinner with my Mum, brother, and sister - my sister is visiting very briefly from Melbourne and does not have time to come north to stay with us :(. I am hoping this dress will do for all day, as I am a bit pushed for time, but I am taking a cardigan to Brisbane just in case it is cool this evening.
This dress is a real favourite, and started out as McCalls 5117. I wrote about it here. Although it is linen, which you think might be cool to wear, it is lined in silk, and has sleeves, so is a bit warmer than most of my short sleeved dresses. I tend to wear it most in early spring and in autumn.

That is a lovely dress. Your workmanship is amazing-I read the older post and was intrigued by how you treated the smocked panel.
I'm with Mary! I did the same thing and blew up the picture of the smocking to get a closer look. Amazing craftswomanship.
Well the photo taking might be tedious but it's nice for us to see the results. Although I don't always leave a comment I do enjoy the posts - especially the silly ones BTW - you need never fear the joke being lost on me.
Very nice! The smocking is beautiful.

A very pretty dress!
This dress is just gorgeous. I love it, simply chic.
Lovely dress. The neutrals work very well, but I was suprised how much I loved you wearing the purple.
The smocking really is beautiful and it's so nice with the simplicity of the rest of the dress.
