Purple is practically a neutral - Limited Combinations

I really like my purple skirt, but did not have much in my wardrobe that I wanted to wear with it. Inspired by Carolyn's comment, that purple is practically a neutral, and the many helpful suggestions as to what would work as an outfit, I started making co-ordinates. I fully intended to make a few more tops, and a few more skirts, so as to make a capsule wardrobe for Summer, but have not got terribly far at this point. Despite this, I am entering my efforts so far in the Endless Combinations challenge at Pattern Review. I just wish I was better at composite photographs!

I can't recommend Picasa highly enough for composites. You can download it for free. You import all your pics into it, click on the ones you want in the composite & click on 'create collage'. Bazinga..as Sheldon Cooper would say. :)

Oh I love it, you look great! I also love the fact you took a skirt you thought wouldn't match anything and made 4 tops to go with it. I do love a good challenge come right.

You've updated before I had a chance to leave a comment on your last post - but I did want to tell you how impressive the tutorial was. I looked at it and thought, wow, who would have thought there was so much to smocking.

Maybe the combination of two primary colours - red and blue - helps purple to blend with other colours. Who knows I'm not a colour expert. Love all these looks. I've just bought purple reading glasses, so I hope its neutral.

What beautiful outfits - I love each of the garments and they all work so well together. Purple is an excellent colour choice - I love purple - it's very rich and flattering and just right for this time of the year!

How about trying some browns, greys and mossy greens/olives?
Good luck with your endless combination competition.
