Burda World of Fashion 10-10-118
This blouse is a second version of the Burda blouse I made her for day 1, much quicker as all the fitting adjustments had been completed already. This time I have actually used the neck detail as set out by Burda, and it is worth the fabric hogging, in my opinion. The neck is bound with a bias strip, fastened with a small button and loop, and a bias cut scarf is then attached to the neckline. In Burda, this blouse is made from a wool tweed, and the bias scarf is fringed at the ends and the long sides are unfinished. As my daughter's blouse is made from cotton shirting (woven plaid in black, grey and white, so both sides look good) from Michael's Fabrics, I have finished the edges of the scarf with a rolled hem. The scarf is a single layer, and drapes beautifully.
Photographs are again taken during the lunch break, and the cotton is standing up pretty well to a half day at work.
Today, she wore the blouse again ( I think it is her favourite), but untucked, over her black RTW (Christmas present from Nanna) skirt.
These are after work photos, with the shoes off and hair out, but I think you can see the idea of the second outfit from this blouse with a different look.

You deserve that maternal halo in my opinion! I really love this blouse! I think you have done very well...I think it looks fantastic.(as do the other ones you made this week!) Your daughter looks lovely and very professional! (she's a little bit gorgeous isn't she!!)
This has been in my 'maybe' list but I'm definitely going to make it now. I love this look and your daughter looks great.
Yes the halo is glowing!! Lovely work as usual!
Fabulous blouse. I wish I had been buying Burda in 2010
All the clothes you have made for your daughter are so lovely! I am sure she is the best dressed girl in the office :)
This top is a real winner too. It is great at work and after work, so that's an excellent choice.
Your treatment on the scarf elevates this pattern into awesomeness - your daughter looks fantastic :)
Wow - another beautiful blouse. I am so impressed by your sewing rate! Please tell me you have dishes on your bench :-) . I think i can see your maternal halo from here. This is a lovely wardrobe to begin work with. She looks very professional bu still cute.
Ah yes, I will not be showing photos of my housework skills ;)
However, the true blessing of sewing for teenage daughters is that I can negotiate highly favourable trades for my sewing - dinner magically appears and the kitchen is even cleaned up afterwards when someone really needs a new blouse by tomorrow morning please Mum....
Fantastic! Yes, you deserve the halo, and possibly a nice foot rub. ;-) I can't believe you are churning these out so fast! Your sewing machine must have wings!
Such a lovely blouse. Lucky, lucky daughter to have a Mum like you.
It's so sweet. I just love the way these shirts have the nod to earnest formality with the fabric but are undercut by the feminine design and styling. tres chic!
I just love the unique look of this blouse. I also think the fabric choice was brilliant.
She looks like a real professional. The blouse is quite versatile.
Wow! That blouse is just gorgeous! I've pinned it for future reference!
This Is another awesome blouse! The sensible cotton shirting with the bias scarf is just a brilliant mix. I might have to copy you...

Love this! So very professional. You have me mentally combing through my stash to see what I can make this out of.
I love that blouse, so much so that I went to the library to get the burda in question Monday. Drew out the pattern, tissue fit and cut out and marked the fabric tuesday, and today wednesday I sewed it all together. Now I am wearing it.
