Hemming tool

My wonderful woodworking husband just made me this hemming tool. My daughter used it to pin mark the hem of today's dress, and it was extremely quick! The tool is made from camphor laurel, a 120 0dd year old tree that we had to have cut down when we first moved into our house, the wood has been drying under the house for 10 years, but still has a faint camphor smell that I quite like. The shaft is jarrah. I particularly like the rest for my pincushion. (This stylish embroidered pincushion was made for me by my MIL). I am blessed with skilled family members.
